Lazy Daisies!

I know I have been lazy lately.... but on Sunday, when we had a glimmer of that strange thing in the sky that I think they call a 'sun' I nipped out into the front garden when my hubby went off fishing, and sketched some lovely daisy like flowers (not sure of the proper name!) that have braved the English summer, and although they look a little rain-battered they are really pretty. Thought I would have a go at stitching them onto some watercolour paper, et voila... (yes I'm getting a bit of practice in for France, we fly out Saturday to the Dordogne with the family. Oh yes, and it's hot and sunny out there, YEY!!)

The big question is, do they look better with a coloured background, or should I stick to plain white??? Thoughts and comments please xx

Once upon a time...

Well, as I haven't done any work recently, due to my day job and also getting ready for a holiday next week in France (hope the weather is better than it is in Blighty!!) I decided to post one of my projects from my first year at college. We had to design a book, using typography mainly, instead of images. So I did mine on my childhood, grwoing up on a farm and all the happy memories I had! It nearly made my dad cry when he saw it!! Hope you like it.

Aaaah, leaving home, sniff, sniff!!

Home and Gift Harrogate

Well, fellow bloggers, I haven't posted for a while as I haven't had much time and haven't done any new work, but today my lil sis and I went to visit the Home and Gift Fair in Harrogate. There was only one hall dedicated to Greetings cards, so we had a little wander and chatted to a few peeps, and had a look at some of the amazing work that is out there!

I wanted to take some photos to post, as others have on other blogs I've seen, but people didn't seem very keen on me photographing their stands, so I only took one, which I'll download later, from Liz and Pip, whose work, I must say was gorgeous!! Their website is www.lizandpip.com check it out their work is lovely and their stand was one of the best!

On the whole though I'm glad we went to have a look and I made a good contact with the GCA (Greetings Card Association) and am hoping to go to a seminar later in the year.

It' still raining!!!

Hence, lack of posts, it's just not very inspiring to go and sit in the garden and sketch. I'm off horse-riding this weekend to Wales, so will post when I get back, with very amusing photos of me in my HUGE riding hat! Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't rain!!
