Needless to say, after my last caravanning foray, I was slightly worried it was going to snow and we'd be stuck in our little van, but we have been mega-lucky and it has been sunny every day. We are rested, refreshed and relaxed.... back to work tomorrow for us both and back to 'sooziebee' at some point this month. My enthusiasm for my artwork is in the dumps at the moment so I have been having a break to try and get my mojo back (it does seem to disappear every now and then and I usually manage to find it, I just hope I do find it soon, it's been gone a while!!).

I just wanted to share with you a new designer I have recently come across. her name is Rhea Clements and she is a Knitwear Graduate from my very own Nottingham. She makes gorgeous knitwear and colourful jewellery.
I asked her to tell me a little about herself and this is what she had to say...
'My designs are based on ease of use and convenience to the wearer as well as comfortable and fashionable. Currently I have two lines of accessories, jewellery and scarves. My jewellery is based on colour, fun and making a statement. They are created with random mixes of buttons so each piece is unique. My scarf designs focus on functionality, using various fastening techniques integrated into the designs. This allows the wearer to adjust the size and how it is worn. They are created using hand tooling techniques on a knitting machine'.

Here are some ideas I have had re: my new project. I sketched them out in rough the other day and thought I'd spruce them up yesterday to see what they looked like. I have my favourites and there are things that I think need doing to improve some of them, so maybe they all need a bit more work. Plus I also intend to scan them into Photoshop and colour them so we will be able to get an idea of the final 'look'. I ahve enjoyed doidng this project so far, when I first found out that it was going to be on a canvas and in paint I was a bit nervous, as I haven't worked in that way before, but now I'm itching to get my paints out and give it a go!!

Time to revisit my sketchbook that I started in January, with the intention of doing a little sketch every day. The every day thing didn't happen, and I can either be disappointed with myself (pointless and negative) or just enjoy sketching when I can!!
The sun is shining at the mo so I'm just going out to sketch daffodils...

After immersing myself in my magazines, pattern books and my box of tricks (ie a whole lot of paper I have been collecting for the past three years) I got out a pencil (I had nearly forgotten what a pencil felt like!!) and started scribbling, really rough sketches, just getting as many ideas down on paper as I could. And when I felt myself getting stuck and repeating the same things I had a break and then came back to it later. Here are some of the pages from my sketchbook I thought I'd share. It's only in the baby stages but I have the basics of four or five ideas which I will take to my client and show her. Hopefully she will like at least one!!
